The Young Ones 2018 social brief was to create an innovative idea that raises awareness of the opioid overdose risk while reducing the stigma associated with it. We decided raising awareness wasn’t enough, and it was time to actually do something about the opioid overdose crisis. So we created the "Safe Use Syringe". Our idea was a Young Ones Finalist.
A few years later, the Bloc contacted us to see if they could take our idea and make it a reality.
We obviously said yes. And the result—The Overdoes Stopper made in partnership with the Washington Heights Corner Project—was shortlisted for Innovation: Early Stage Technology as well as Outdoor: Market Disruption.
